Construction of a new two-story, 40,000 foot square reinforced concrete laboratory building. The building includes approximately 19,000 foot square of wet lab and lab support space and approximately 21,000 foot square of private and open office space, conference rooms, break rooms, and mechanical and electrical rooms. The laboratory wing includes extensive laboratory electrical and plumbing systems. Fixed and mobile laboratory casework, and chemical fume hoods. The building is designed to achieve leed silver and includes energy efficient mechanical systems, led lighting throughout with a lighting control system, natural ventilation of the office space, and a steel canopy structure to shade the extensive south facing glazing. The project includes installation of underground utilities, an on-site parking lot, pedestrian paving, construction of storm water treatment bioswales, landscaping and irrigation.
