Robert barron island in the state of Alaska. In Alaska, an R-21 HI site is typically the remote part of the rescue 21 system that can receive distress calls and relay them to the coast guard. Work at each site includes demolishing aged generators huts and constructing new huts; replacing solar panels, battery banks, and integrating the new supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system. SCADA systems allow the coast guard to remotely monitor and control the equipment installed at the HI sites.
