The work involves constructing a combined intake structure, gate chamber, and helix chamber at cle elum dam to enable downstream fish passage. This includes constructing the structural, mechanical, and electrical systems inside a previously constructed secant pile shaft, building six vertically stacked reinforced concrete intake structures that follow the reservoir rim contours, and a six-level intake structure in the reservoir to accommodate a 63-FOOT water surface fluctuation. Additional work includes an underground steel gate chamber supporting guard gates and steel pipes, a 48-FOOT diameter underground helix chamber with a steel braced frame and precast concrete flume, access structures with stairwells and elevator shafts, overflow weir crest gates at each intake, precast concrete conduits up to 500 feet in length, and a fully enclosed roof with steel trusses, joists, and a reinforced concrete deck.
